Fat-bike, snowshoes or both? Powder Keg’s a comin’

Logo for the 2012 Powder KegThe Eau Claire Bike & Sport Powder Keg is happening Saturday, February 8th.  How will you choose to race it?

On snowshoes?  We’ve got a 5-mile option and a 2-mile option open to anyone wanting to explore by foot the beautiful trails of Lowes Creek County Park.  Whether you’re racing for a PR or strolling with friends, you’ll have a good time at the Powder Keg.

On a fat-bike?  You can race solo or as part of a 2-person or 3-person team.  Two hours of snowy Lowes singletrack and groomed ski trails isn’t a half-bad way to spend a winter afternoon.  Especially when you’ve got post-race refreshments and prizes to look forward to.

Pre-register by February 3 to get early bird pricing.  Plus, the first 100 to register will be guaranteed a Powder Keg event T-shirt, so don’t dawdle.  (Not racing?  You can get a t-shirt, too, by volunteering.  Sign up here to help.)

Find registration links and full details on the Powder Keg Event Page here.  Hope to see you there!

Oh, and a big thank you to this year’s sponsors (without whom there wouldn’t be an event):  Eau Claire Bike & Sport, Fantastic Sams Hair Salons, Milwaukee Burger Co, Scheels, Xcel Energy, Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital and Scheels.
