It follows the Trans-Wisconsin Adventure Trail, which goes from the Illinois border up to the Bayfield Peninsula.  550 miles, self-supported, over several days.  The website for the race is here.

I've done the Ragnarok and Almanzo for the last couple of years and am doing those, along with the Dirty Kanza, Trans-Wisconsin, and hopefully the Heck of the North this year.

There's also the first running of the Chequamegon 100 this year, but I'm stuck on the waiting list as they capped the entries at 100.  They're thinking about opening it up to more riders, but haven't done so yet…

There is a kind of a warm up to this type of riding I ran across yesterday.  It appears to be a group of riders that ride some railroad grade trails in the Madison Area.  They cover about 170 miles over a period of two days.  Flat as a pancake is what they said.  Totally casual, easy/moderate pace.  I ran across it in the WI/MN forums of mtbr.com.  Check there if you are interested.  B.A.L.L.S ride I think it was called.

Ride was at the end of April.

Web site for B.A.L.L.S. is http://ballsride.blogspot.com/

Looks like fun.

Is the bomb.

Anyone doing any of the midwest gravel races this year?  Trans Iowa?  Dirty Kanza 200? Ragnarok 105? Almanzo 100? Trans Wisconsin? Heck of the North? Westside Dirty Benjamin?

These races are rapidly becoming an obsession for me.
