The Chippewa Off Road Bike Association (CORBA) will be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Red Flint Firecracker. That’s 10 years of amazing trails, dedicated volunteers and dauntless racers. The Firecracker has become known for its fabulous trails and family friendly venue and this year will be no exception. With our mix of twisty pines, hard-packed Whoops and speedy ski trails racers can plan to begin their pre-ride Friday afternoon. All race proceeds go directly to CORBA, your non-profit organization who builds and maintains the trails you love. A special thank you goes out to Lowes Creek County Park for their support of mountain biking!
The Firecracker weekend has plenty in store for you beginning with onsite camping both Friday and Saturday nights so that you and yours can sit back and enjoy the weekend without needing to leave the grounds. What’s more is this year we will have Fire Truck Pizza by Fosters Cheese Haus ready for purchase on Friday night. Don’t miss your chance to savor fresh, hot wood-fired pizza from 5pm – 8pm Friday.
Since our goal is to provide you with great trails AND an incredible weekend of bikes and camaraderie the fun continues Saturday, June 29th with course pre-rides, our popular All-You-Can-Eat pasta feed (a fund raiser for McDonnell High School cross country team) and hanging out by the bonfire. You may even want to top the evening off with a night ride!
Start your race day with an amazing All-You-Can-Eat breakfast (fundraiser) that will be sure to fuel you up. Once you’ve completed your race, relax at the Racer Lounge and enjoy the shade, free snacks and water. And don’t forget, we will have great swag for all registered racers!!!
One thing we boast is “spectator-friendly” viewing areas. There are many sections of trail just a short walk from the Eau Claire County Expo that feature an elevated view of some of the riding or running challenges the competitors will tackle. We will also have concessions for sale.
Are you a runner? The fleet-of-foot can add to the weekend by signing up for the Firecracker Trail Run and choose between a 5K or 10K race through the singletrack. Trail Run Information
Not racing? We are always in need of volunteers, who also receive a swag bag PLUS a t-shirt! Please be sure to watch the CORBA message board and our Facebook page for course updates and race enhancements that are still in progress. This Firecracker is always a blast!!
